IFTS courses
The IFTS course awards a certificate of higher technical specialisation (EQF level IV).
They are two different courses in terms of the number of hours and the qualification you obtain at the end. The IFTS courses in fact:
- have a one-year instead of two-year duration;
- issue a certificate of higher technical specialisation equal to EQF level IV;
- have a compulsory attendance of 80% of the total number of hours
- are completely free of charge;
- admit students with an upper secondary school diploma or a vocational technical diploma (IV year IeFP).
The IFTS courses last one year, for a total of 1,000 hours, including 600 classroom hours and 400 in-company placements.
Indicatively, IFTS courses start between October and November and finish in July of the following year.
The IFTS courses are co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Lombardy Region and students are required to pay a fee of EUR 500.
To register for the test, you must be unemployed and resident or domiciled in Lombardy, and possess one of the following documents:
- or an upper secondary education diploma;
- or the professional diploma obtained in IV year IeFP courses

That's right. The maximum number of students varies from course to course, roughly between 15 and 25 students.
Yes, attendance is compulsory for at least 75% of the total hours of the training plan.
At the end of the course, which on average lasts one school year, provided you have attended at least 75% of the training course, you will take the final exam that allows you to obtain the Certificate of Higher Technical Specialisation recognised throughout the country equal to the European EQF Level IV recognition.
Yes, it has a slightly shorter duration of 400 hours of in-company training.
Yes, it is possible to attend an Art. 43 apprenticeship IFTS course, on the basis of an agreement between the training structure, the company and the apprentice and an agreed individualised training plan that defines the amount of hours of external training (to be carried out at the training structure) and internal training (to be carried out at the company) and the remaining hours of work to be carried out to achieve the professional skills set out in the training profile.
ITS courses
At the end of the second year, provided you have attended at least 80% of the training course and successfully passed the final examination, you will be awarded the 'Diploma di Tecnico Superiore' qualification recognised throughout Italy and Europe (EQF level V).
With our courses, 96% of the students got a stable job within one year after graduation.

In both cases, these are tertiary level training courses (subsequent to the 2nd cycle diploma). ITS courses have a shorter duration (two years) than the university (3+2 years) and award a degree of Higher Technical Diploma at EQF level V, while the university awards a degree of Bachelor's or Master's degree at EQF level VI.
The ITS courses have a strong practical, experiential, laboratory characterisation and are oriented towards professional profiles of highly specialised Technicians in technological fields and innovative production sectors (Logistics and Sustainable Mobility, Sustainable Supply Chain, Industry 4.0, E-commerce). The courses are designed and managed in close connection with the production system, which in the case of ITS Move are companies in both the Services and Manufacturing Sectors.
They are two different courses in terms of the number of hours and the title you will obtain at the end. ITS courses in fact:
- have a two-year duration and higher course hours than IFTS: 2000 hours instead of 1000;
- award a 'Higher Technical Diploma' equal to EQF level V;
- have a compulsory attendance of 80% of the total number of hours;
- provide for the payment of a participation fee of EUR 1,300/year;
- Students with an upper secondary school diploma or a 4th year IeFP vocational diploma + IFTS certificate (Higher Technical Specialisation Certificate) are eligible.
ITS courses generally last 2 years (for some profiles 3 years), for a total of 1,800/2000 hours and include company internships for at least 35%. The training proposal for ITS Move is 2,000 hours of training, of which 1,100 are classroom/laboratory hours and 900 company internships.
In Move, ITS courses take place over two years, generally from October to July. During the first year, there is an in-company traineeship, also abroad, lasting 400 hours. In the second year, the duration of the internship is 500 hours.
The ITS courses are co-financed by the European Social Fund, the Ministry of Education and Merit and the Lombardy Region and involve a participation fee of 1,300 euros per year. The fee is deductible in the income tax return (art.15 TUIR). For students who want to become independent from their families, it is possible to apply for an Honour Loan. In addition, ITS Move offers scholarships based on income (based on ISEE) and merit.

A number of selection tests are scheduled: two written tests (general culture and logic), a motivational interview and an interview in English.
That's right. The number of students admitted is a maximum of 25-30 students per course.

Internship
You will gain professional experience at one of our partner companies. Our network covers Lombardy, but also other regions as well as the European area.
The traineeship of an ITS course is for training purposes and is defined as a curricular traineeship. It therefore takes place without compulsory remuneration from the company, except for awards, refunds or meal vouchers provided at the discretion of the company.

Admission tests are held at our locations. We will inform you in good time about how to take the tests so that you can make the best possible arrangements.
Yes, but only the following year. In fact, it is only possible to take the admission test once a year.

Honour Loan
In order to give everyone the chance to participate in ITS courses, the Foundation has decided to provide income-based scholarships (for family ISEE less than EUR 24,000) and has signed an agreement with several banks to activate an honour loan.
Access to the loan is conditional on admission to the courses according to the standard process. In addition, you must maintain high class attendance, a positive grade point average and conduct in line with the purpose and values of the ITS Move.
